Monsta X
MONSTA X (Hangul: 몬스타엑스) is a seven-member South Korean hip-hop boy group under Starship Entertainment formed in 2015. It consists of members Shownu, Wonho, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon, and I.M.
Before their debut, the boys participed in the survival show ‘NO.MERCY’ and gaining the chance to debut under ‘MONSTA X’. The group name has the double meaning of monsters conquering the K-POP scene and my star (MON means ‘my’ in French). X is an unknown existence.
The group officially debuted through M! Countdown on May 14, 2015 with their mini-album TRESPASS. The group released their second mini-album RUSH on September 7, 2015, which was followed by a digital repackage HERO on October 22, 2015. The title track for the album and repackage was "HERO". After that, they released their third mini-album THE CLAN pt.1 on May 18, 2016. It's the first part of their The Clan Series. The second part and also their fourth mini-album THE CLAN pt.2 was released on October 4, 2016. The title track for the mini is "Fighter".
On March 5, 2017, it was confirmed that the group will release their third and final part of The Clan series titled THE CLAN pt.2.5 BEAUTIFUL. It was released on March 21, 2017 with the title track "아름다워 (Beautiful)". The album was re-released under the title SHINE FOREVER on June 19, 2017 with two additional tracks: "Gravity" and "Shine Forever". MONSTA X released a summer song "Newton" on July 27, 2017.
On November 7, 2017, the group released their fifth extended play THE CODE with title track "Dramarama". It peaked at #1 on the Gaon Album Chart. Dramarama won them their first music show trophy on November 14, 2017 through The Show. On January 10, 2018, they released their first Japanese-only single "Spotlight". Read more on Last.fm.
